Genesis
Hi folks,
In the book of Genesis, I examine many characters that provide valuable lessons for us. Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, Abraham, and Joseph, to name a few.

Trust in the LORD
If you are retired like I am, you may have part of your retirement invested in the stock market. The last few days have not been good for the stock market. It is easy to become stressed about the loss of one’s retirement. However, we must realize that there is nothing safe in this world, and we must trust the Lord with our future. That is easier said than done.
I encourage you to meditate on Scripture to help when life is difficult. Psalms 91 have helped me so much. The entire chapter is filled with encouragement. The first verse tells us that whosoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. The key is to dwell in God’s shelter. He owns our possessions and has a reason for our being. Each day, I attempt to acknowledge that God is in charge and rest in the knowledge that He has everything under control. I pray that you will place your life in the LORD’s hands, including any difficulty you face. God bless, Pastor Bob
Transformed
I am looking forward to seeing what God can do with me. I don’t want to become old and set in my ways, but available to God to use me and change me. He has His hands full, but I am ready. God is doing wonderful things at our church as many of us are open to God’s hands changing us.
Enjoying the Adventure
The last few months have been a blur. I went to New Jersey for a doctor’s appointment. I had a little time to visit with people. We miss Jersey. The next trip was to Alabama for a family reunion, which went well… except that my plane broke. We had to borrow a car and drive home to spend a couple of days getting ready to go to Honolulu and see my grandkids. Things went well there, and we finally got back to South Carolina. However, I had to drive back to Alabama to get my airplane, which had an issue on the way home. I diverted to another airport. Anyway, the airplane is in for an annual now.
God is good. I am well into my next book, but it will be next year before I get it done. The NFL book I haven’t made much progress on, but will continue working on it.
I am actively seeking the LORD to draw closer to Him. I hope that you will put God first in your life. There is nothing to be lost and everything to be gained by putting Jesus first place in your life. Talk later. Pastor Bob
Teach an old dog new tricks.
I am learning a great deal at the moment. When many people my age are slowing down, I am learning new things. For example, I am learning how to use this program. I am learning about Amazon.com and its complex system for publishing and marketing books. But learning is fun…sometimes.
Fortunately, I am growing in the LORD. I am so excited about book three of the Top 100 Characters series. I am also writing a book that relates the NFL system of hiring players to building a church. I plan to have both done by the end of the year. We’ll see how well the old dog can learn.
By the way, book two of the Top 100 Characters can be found on Amazon.com now. As soon as I get a picture, I will post it. Bob
My Books
Since retiring, I have begun to write books. I have enjoyed it, but it is challenging for me on a number of levels. Below are the books that I have posted on Amazon.com

This was the first book I wrote. It was part of my doctoral program. One of the comments that was made about the book was that they wanted more. So that brought about the second book.

The first book was eight weeks of lessons, and the second one was twelve weeks.

The third book is about my struggle with cancer. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma over eleven years ago. I had a stem cell transplant and have continued to be treated for cancer. God has helped me through the struggle and this book is about my faith walk and the Scriptures that helped me.

The book is the first in a series of the characters in the Bible. God teaches us His principles through His workings with people. I love looking at the biblical characters and studying how God teaches them and interacts with them.
The second in this series will be out in a couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy them. Pastor Bob
